Default Untitled Fifth Album (Fall 2010 release)

Yup, like I thought, she's rushing out this album so she can rush out the next one and get the hell away from RCA!

Post any info on the new album here...

Kelly Clarkson's post-"American Idol" career has been full of surprises, and judging from a recent interview with Chicago radio station Kiss FM 103.5, her next album may contain even more - like a departure from her signature rock/pop sound.

"Yeah, we're already working on it," she told DJ Ty Bentli. "We tour throughout 2010 overseas and then we actually are probably going to have released the record in the fall of 2010," Clarkson said of next year's agenda.
Aside from writing some of her own songs, the singer is currently penning tracks for other artists, noting that she sometimes keeps the tracks for herself if she really likes them.

"What's really weird is right now I've got a really cool [music] publisher I work with that has hooked me up with a lot of different writers that do a lot of tracks and stuff," she said. "So we've been writing for other artists but then I end up liking it so much that I can't give them away, but they're really different. The next record is probably going to be really different."

Clarkson did not specify which artists she's been writing for. And while the "American Idol" alum is heavily involved in the creative process, she did confess that her hectic schedule can sometimes interfere with how much she actually gets to write on a record.

"If I end up liking stuff that I've done I'll include it, but if I like other stuff better then I'll just have more of that. Sometimes you're just more inspired, I guess, and especially if you have records that come out real close together, it might be more other people's songs because there's not enough time to write and sing and perform and do everything," she said.
The North American leg of Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted Tour ends in New Orleans on December 13, and the singer begins her lengthy overseas jaunt - which is scheduled to cover Europe, Australia and New Zealand over 10 weeks - in England on February 7.

Breakaway is one of the best albums of the 00's, hopefully this new one can match up to it! All i ever wanted was good, but not Breakaway standards!

The thing is, with My December she went really dark, then with All I Ever Wanted she tried to redress the balance by going really poppy, but I think what most of us actually want is what she started off with in the first place - the sort of happy medium she had on Breakaway. Obviously it's good for any artist to explore different things but I'm secretly hoping she goes back to that this time round.

^^ Not true, its just the way they were marketed, if you actually look at how many tracks on each are dark and poppy, its about the same.

I don't think we'll ever see another breakaway when she loses RCA she'll go lower key down the line I'm looking forward to an Acoustic album and a possible country album.

I think RCA will deffo get a Greatest hits out of her and my what a greatest hits that will be, there's so many people releasing GH's nowadays with barely any hits, hers will be packed!

I think most of us know Breakaway was her second album. She "started off" with Thankful. Lol.

I do agree with Hev. My December is seen as darker than it actually is. There's some real pop on there to be honest and not all of AIEW is chirpy pop. She does adapt her style and that's what I like about her.

I think what a lot of people deem good is "commercial" just in the same way that a lot of music snobs deem "non-commerical" as the only thing that can be good. You talk of a "happy medium" and I actually think Kelly often finds that in her music. She's obviously seen as a commercial artist because of where she is from and that but she doesn't always try to please people just for sales. Acts become boring that way and that's one thing I say about GA - I prefered their adventurous releases over the Call the Shots-esque times we entered.

If you think about the songs Kelly's wanted (and written herself) on her albums and pushed hard to get on there, you'll see that the majority of her sucsess has been down to herself and little to do with RCA. Just imagine how big she could be if they actually listened to her and let her have full artistic control!

Here's a fact for you non-hardcore Kelly fans...

RCA HATED Because Of You and didn't want it on Breakaway. It's become one of (if not the) most sucsessful international single. It was the same story with Behind These Hazel Eyes.

Now, they got proved wrong, BIGTIME there, so why why why did they then try to stop her doing it her way on My December, Clive Davis offered her $10million to put a load of cast offs on the album instead of what he deamed darker and less commercial songs. She didn't give in and the first single was quite sucsessful. So then why did RCA completley give up on the album? She had never given them reason to doubt her judgement. Sober is by FAR the best song she's ever done and it bombed because RCA gave it no support, no promotion and no video.

Seriously, if you've seen the lyrics she's been writing latley, you'll know she's completley had enough of RCA, she's given up and just wants to get out of the contract asap.

I wouldn't be supprised if you see more Kelly credits on other albums than her own.

I do know that, I just tend not to count Thankful because first albums from reality show winners are never really a true reflection of who they are as an artist (usually because they haven't worked that out yet). Breakaway was where she really found her niche, and to be honest I'd never really heard of her (or at least any of her music) until then.
